How to Prevent Common Shaving Problems

A lot of people experience problems and many of them do not realise how simple it can be to avoid them. By improving your technique to as perfect as you can get it, you will be surprised at how easy the process becomes! Without all the agony.

Each heading below has a link to the full article on the subject.

Razor Burn

That dull searing burn from when you haven't been doing it properly! What were you thinking? Easily avoidable, this can be caused by dull blades or going over an area too many times, or the ultimate sin of going against the grain. Not the worst of problems, but very common. By having a sharp razor and going with the grain carefully, you can avoid this one.

Razor Bumps

Usually accompanying razor burn, another of the problems is razor bumps. These are the result of infected ingrown hairs and resemble acne. Again one major culprit is going against the grain. To avoid these, the best way is to go with the grain.

Nicks And Cuts

These can be the most embarrassing of the problems, because they usually stick out a lot more than the others mentioned above. Also to me, they have the look that you don’t know how to shave properly. Fortunately they are easily avoided, by making sure you have a good lubricant – cream or gel, a nice sharp blade, and you be careful!
